Crutchfield Reptiles
Keeper, educator, and conservationist at Crutchfield Reptiles alongside Tom. She came to reptiles from respiratory therapy and brought the clinician's habit with her: watch the patient, learn from everyone, then build your own technique. That's how she learned to work monocled cobras, watching every handler she could and paying attention to how the snake answered each of them. Her specialty is behavior and trust. With the crocodile monitors she sits in the enclosure on her phone and ignores them until they come to her on their own. She reads the difference between a green iguana's head bob and a rhino iguana's, and she'll tell you a corn snake shaking its tail is doing a rattlesnake impression. She works crocodilians, monitor lizards, and venomous. She's the one who put Johann, the Cape banded monitor, in Braxton's hands. She's spent decades bringing the public up close with the big animals, and she believes what the school believes: knowledge does more good shared than kept.
