CHILDREN'S EDUCATION · CITADEL STUDENT

Start them with the truth.

Age-appropriate reptile science, husbandry, and respect — for the youngest keepers.

Why we start young

Most kids meet a snake for the first time through fear  someone else's fear, handed to them.

Citadel Student replaces it with the truth, taught young: what the animal is, how it lives, and why it's worth protecting.

The same standard, for the youngest keepers

We don't water it down. We make it their size.

The adult Academy and Citadel Student teach the same truths — the science, the care, the respect for the animal. The difference is the delivery, not the standard.

Every lesson is built from real footage and real keepers, then scaled to a child's age so the wonder lands before the worry ever can.

The core program

Citadel Student for kids.

Story-led lessons that grow with them.

Ages 7–14Story-ledHands-onConservation

Each unit opens with a real animal and a real keeper, then turns into something the child does with their hands — not a worksheet, an experience.

The science follows the wonder. By the end of a unit a child can name the animal, explain how it lives, and tell you why it matters in the wild and in our care.

How a lesson works

Four steps, every unit — wonder first, science second.

01

Watch

See the animal and the keeper, in real footage.

02

Do

A hands-on activity built for their age.

03

Understand

The science behind what they just saw.

04

Respect

Why the animal matters — in the wild and in our care.

For families & educators

The questions we hear most.

Citadel Student is the children's education arm of Citadel Culebra. Age-appropriate reptile science, husbandry literacy, conservation, and respect — built for kids, and built for the educators teaching them. Distinct from the adult Academy; same standard of care.

Built for roughly ages 7 to 14, and scaled so the material grows with the child rather than being outgrown.

No. Every lesson works with nothing but the child and the screen. Families who do keep reptiles get extra hands-on guides — safely.

A dedicated feed of classroom-ready material — lesson plans, slide decks, safety scripts, and family-science nights — published on a rolling basis.

District- and charter-wide programs are planned with your team and available summer 2026. Join the interest list and we'll reach out with planning details.

Safety is taught first, not last. No child is ever asked to handle a venomous or dangerous animal — the standard is respect from a distance.
