Venom science · University of Queensland
A National Geographic Explorer and one of the world's leading venom scientists, based at the University of Queensland. He's led expeditions to more than 40 countries and discovered things no one knew existed — venom in the Komodo dragon, antifreeze venom in Antarctic octopuses — and built one of the most cited venom-research programs on Earth, decoding toxins to drive the next generation of antivenoms and life-saving drugs.
