GEORGE VAN HORN
Reptile World Serpentarium · St. Cloud, FL
Caught his first rattlesnake as a boy after a field trip to Bill Haast's serpentarium lit the fire. Opened Reptile World in a cinder-block building in 1972 and never stopped — still stepping behind the glass to milk cobras and rattlers by hand, for the antivenom that saves lives. Survived a near-fatal king cobra strike and went right back to work the moment he could.
